What Dr. Smith writes about

In the academic world, Dr. Smith is known as a triple threat.  He has written extensively about freedom of expression, historical figures, and existentail philosophy.  He has won numerous awards for these publications includinng the Robert O'Neil Award for First Amendment scholarship, which includes Silencing the Opposition (State University of New York Press).  He won the Ehininger Award from the National Communication Association for his research into persuasion theory, which includes Rhetoric and Human Consciousness (Waveland Press, 5th edition).  His most recent book on philosophy is The Call: Eloquence in the Service of Truth (Michigan State University Press.)
